What they are not telling you about your STEEM Credits.

So all of a sudden I've got a ton of STEEM credits on here and I don't know what to do with it. I was hoping to convert my STEEM to real money so I can do something in the real world like buy a pair of shoes or groceries but it turns out it's not that easy. First of all, you have to sign up on a sleazy exchange that is usually in a foreign country and has zero customer service. In 2014 one of these exchanges (Mt. Gox) folded up shop and moved out of town with millions of dollars. The account holders were left high and dry. Secondly, when you sign up on these exchanges they want to know absolutely everything about you. Why? I guess they figure that you are some sort of drug dealer or terrorist that wants to launder a few bucks. Why should I give them all of my personal information? Is the IRS going to come pound on my door? The last thing I want is to lose my freedom because of a few dollars I earned through using this funny-money. Lastly, the only way to get real USD is to link your bank account to whoever is exchanging your STEEM. I thought this was absolutely absurd. So... I say NO THANK-YOU. Anybody want to buy some STEEM credits?
