Another great way to get steem is by writing comments on other people's posts so that it gets upvoted. You see, commentating on other peoples post actually increases the number of posts you made so basically comment = post, but without the hassle.

To be successful and earn steem, your comment must be more than "thanks for the article" or "nice post. upvoted!". These types of comments don't earn anything, pure and simple. Actually take your time to read what you're commenting on and type a long and insightful reply. You can even go for a joke. Keep in mind though: your comment must be relevant in relation to the content that you comment on. Post about programming? Don't write a comment about food. Pretty straightforward, but I've seen a few that do this and it boggles my mind. 

 A simple method that I use to earn more from my comments is going to the HOT posts and checking those with topics that I could give my insight on, read it and post a comment that is relevant. Try to comment on posts that don't have a ton of replies already unless you really think you can get those juicy upvotes .
