The Turks had a period of hyperinflation during the 90's , the £/TL went from 1/1500 to 1 / 2.5000000 TL before they decided to reset it to the TRY by knocking all the noughts off. The saving grace for the turkish people is that they have a strong precious metal tradition, they love gold and silver
