How to Get From Middle Class To Wealthy

in money •  7 years ago

The middle class is comfortable. I won’t dispute that. Living in a nice home, in a safe neighborhood, with nice vehicles, and having most of your basic needs sufficiently met is very appealing. I’ll agree with that. If you’re in that position, go ahead and validate the progress you’ve made. Most people aren’t there and you’ve managed to live a good life, get some money put away, and you don’t go without. Great! Now what? That’s my question. You’ve got the next 40 years of life figured out. Now what? I believe there is a deeper possibility of what you can achieve. Let me explain.

A legacy. A legacy is what we leave behind and who we leave it with. Right now you probably have friends, family, kids, a house, a job, vehicles, retirement, and some material possessions. Maybe you even have a business, church community, or groups you are apart of. The fact is, when we die, most of those things will maybe get passed down a generation, but ultimately they’ll be forgotten aside from pictures of us here and there and maybe sayings and stories at family gatherings. Hey there is nothing wrong with that at all. That should make you a very happy person. But what if there is more? Imagine generations of lives being changed simply because you did more. What if a library was donated with your name on it? Maybe you were able to fund the cure for cancer? What if you made such a meaningful impact on humanity that your legacy went on forever? A legacy at it’s root actually means “a body of persons sent on a mission”. The possibilities of your legacy go as far as having an army of those you helped, carrying on your mission. Strive for that!

How to get there. It starts with you deciding you want more. It doesn’t mean you aren’t grateful and thankful for what you have. It does mean that you want more and know you’re capable of doing it. It also probably means you feel an obligation to do that. So acknowledge what you have, and now decide on what’s next. This will be a series of conversations that result in an idea and a plan. If you’re married, have this conversation with your spouse or partner. Regardless, envision what you believe in, the problems you want to solve, and how you want to solve them with your life. Once you make this decision, you can then begin looking at where you’re at now. This will create some clarity on the steps you need to take to make it happen.

Put it on paper. Write your mission and goal down. Write down where you’re at now. Work your way backwards and begin to identify step by step what you must do and where you must be to achieve your mission. This isn’t a 1 year, 5 year, or even 10 year thing. This is your life. You should be working on such a big mission that it may never be accomplished in your lifetime and that is why you need a body of persons sent on a mission a.k.a. a legacy.

Multi-purpose your life. This means you look for ways to naturally align your life with your mission. It doesn’t mean you drop everything and change. It means you look for ways you can take much of what you already do and use it towards this new mission. An example of this is that I decided I want to eradicate homelessness and drug use in my city. I hosted an event for it called Operation: Reborn. I partnered with 3 of my clients who are entrepreneurs, funded it with my business, and used my client base and powerbase to promote the mission. This wasn’t new effort because I was already doing most of those things anyways. I just needed to put attention on this new idea and involve it.

Get your money right. You knew I was going to go here. You will need more money than just your own basic needs if you decided on a mission that is bigger than yourself. You will need money. This means that you must cover your needs now, cover your needs in the future, save for investments, pay your taxes, and above all of that have excess for this new mission. That equates to a lot of money. This is where some people quit. Why? Because they have the wrong information. Either they have the wrong information about what money is and does or they have the wrong information on how to get money.

I help people make money, keep it, and multiply it. I believe in your legacy. I think you’re bigger than just 40 hours a week for the next 40 years and a paycheck. “Happy” isn’t eternal. You must create it everyday. The same goes for “comfortable” and “grateful”. Those must be created everyday and the bigger you create it, the longer it will stay.
