In this video, I talk with author and economic analyst John Sneisen about his home country of Norway and the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund.
As the Sovereign Wealth Fund continues to bleed cash, there's a massive bubble burst on the horizon. The global equities bubble is absolutely unsustainable.
So far this year, fund grew their $1 trillion in AUM by another 3.2%, or a mere $32 billion, in Q3 2017 alone.
Norway's Sovereign Wealth Fund owns more the 1% of all global companies/corporations.
As CEO Yngve Slyngstad says,
“60 to 70 percent in equities, imagine it was 60 to 80 or 90 percent, the whole thing is that this fund is actually to a large extent now a public equity fund. We don’t think about this as two separate asset classes that have their distinct dynamics, the real risk of the fund is in the equity market.”
John Sneisen digs deep into the history of the fund, its highs and lows over time and the crumbling foundation that will soon lead to a global crisis.

Awesome. As a norwegian, I'm looking forward to watch this! Thank you for covering this topic. It is a MASSIVE fund, which the norwegian people has never profited from. People are often shocked when they come here. It is a little bit like north korea..everything looks great on the postcards, and for a tourists visiting the right areas everything looks neat.
But travel to the immigrant heavy suburbs..take a closer look at the norwegian child care system, take a look at our poor performing schools, take a look at our high real estate prices and relatively small and crappy houses/appartements.
Take a look at our old car park (except Teslas, that are subsidized)
Take a look at how our psychiatry is not functioning
Take a look at how we don't room in prisons, and that you have to commit really hard crimes to serve time
Take a look at how we treat our elders. They are not taken good care of.
There is a lot going on here that doesn't really show. Everything looks nice on the surface..but scratch a little bit beneath it..

When it happens, it will be the pop heard around the world. We can't even predict the impact, but it should be far worse than the great depression. I don't know what will trigger it and frankly I'm not ready for it. Are you?
