First came the Internet that changed everything. Then the disrupters such as ebay and facebook built on the Internet now worth billions. Will the blockchain based and VC backed sites like steemit and Open Bazaar disrupt the disrupters and propel us into a new era of connected world, or just a fad for nerds?

I am sitting on the fence on this one, the only thing I would say is the money factor might just give it that edge over other failed social networks. Heck I hope so!

So how long can steemit afford to pay for the posts, especially lots of the highly paid posts now are the ones with 'low lasting impact' (such as the 'Hi I'm a woman living in Shanghai, China' that's making thousands of dollars).
