    He seems to have been brought down for daring to set up a successful gold-backed alternative to fiat. It attracted many crooks, but then so do most fiat currencies, and despite helping turn in the crooks to the cops, Jackson was convicted himself.

      Interesting. I'll have to look into it some more. I remember hearing about the project but didn't follow its progress.

        I think he was kind of ahead of his time. I'd be interested to know what he's doing now.
