A Look at Red Dead Redemption 2 & Take Two Games into 2018

Gaming in the past several years has been a sad state; scandals of all sorts ranging from the political to the loot boxes and pay to play to completely deceiving players and releasing trash, buggy games that are nothing close to the trailers. 2018 and Take Two games I think will change that trend.

If you follow gaming, Fortnite is one of the only things being discussed and given its player counts of millions of concurrent players (http://metro.co.uk/2018/03/05/many-people-play-fortnite-battle-royale-7363495/) but being that it's nearly a direct copy of a PUBG, I find that depressing. Having players walk into that deceptive gaming "free to play, expensive to love" experience in a "rich get richer" game format where the game doesn't seek to keep the playing field particularly level or balanced, particularly without a tutorial or ramp up experience, makes the player count somewhat unjustified in my eye. I understand free is free, but it's not really aspiring to be better or make better games. You get something, but are you getting what you think you're getting. Investors are already trying to profit off of this shifting paradigm in gaming, that GTA5 Online and Take Two Games / Rockstar Games may have started, and fools at EA with Star Wars Battlefront took to levels people were no longer willing to openly accept: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/04/reuters-america-rpt-free-to-play-expensive-to-love-fortnite-changes-video-game-business.html

So I posit maybe the one game worth preordering (full disclosure I haven't haha) and actually paying for this fall (but I definitely will) and one of the most widely anticipated games in some time that may actually justify that title: Read Dead Redemption 2 out October 26, 2018 which has released a significant amount of new info about the game.

The latest trailer just released, here are they are in reverse chronological order, half put here to see when the game comes out if there was any significant changes in any footage. If you haven't seen the re-release of the Red Dead Redemption with 4K support...tarnations you probably should check that out, as it stands to reason that the 4K release is something closer to their current game engine and graphics on Red Dead Redemption 2. Given Rockstar Games ability to story tell and the quality of their game production, you can bet the gaming experience will be similar.

On a wider front Take Two Games sees themselves looking more into eSports, but I guarantee given how many of their earnings calls report GTA5 as their primary driver, any game Rockstar Games puts out will cause significant bumps up in their yearly revenue with 2kGames otherwise keeping Take Two afloat:
