Interesting read. I thought the reason why China stop buying our debt was to punish the USA for the tariffs that Donald Trump place. China trade surplus with the USA was the reason they can afford to keep buying our debt. If you think about it, make money off the USA with trades and then buy the debt they own and collect interest(winning). Once president trump said he wanted tariffs that when China stop buying our debt and counter with tariffs that would affect Trumps baseline.
