@thetopiciscool, Very interesting article, it is very easy to understand. Now how do you calculate for getting Social Security?
Say I plan to live on my Retirement Savings 100% for 7 years (55-62) Then Social Security covers 50% and I want to figure 30 more years?
Lets say I want 40K per year using the 4% I need $1million
at 62 I only need half that so 20K per year @4% = $500,000
So I would need around $800,000 in my savings for this scenario?
(40K x 7 years = $280,000 + the $500,000 for the next 30 years)
Is that the way you would figure it?
Thanks
