Yeah, the electric vehicle myth thats been preached for the past 30yrs. The truth is these vehicles are still NOT COST EFFICIENT. The battery cost and useful life are too long and short (relatively) to justify the use of such. The only way this would occur is if our socialist totalitarian overreaching government forces us into slave cars. God willing theres enough stupid people to buy into it, Im sure the huckster Musk will rent us vehicles at 100k a car...subsidized by the governement and auto drafted out of your account as a good citizen of shanty town USA.

I don't see how electric vehicles would decimate any industries except traditional cars and maybe the oil industry itself. For most industries, I would think that cheaper oil would be a good thing. But that's making the huge assumption that the oil would for sure be cheaper.

I thought oil production was supposedly going down. And if there was less demand for oil, wouldn't the oil companies just slow production to keep the prices up?
