Blackbird • Monomad

Below is the tail section of a Blackbird spy plane I photographed today. It was designed in the 1960s by Lockheed Skunk Works with technology that was way ahead of it's time. The jet is unique in its shape and dimensions and to this day holds the record for speed and altitude. In fact, it was never shot down by enemy fire because at the time of it's deployment it could outrun every missile in existence.

The Blackbird is the first successful attempt at stealth technology.

The front nozzle and low profile give it the look of a stingray!

I photographed the Blackbird with my iPhone 6S Plus.
