The meaning of daffodils

Daffodils are seen in our culture as a symbol of overcoming darkness and death, dying and rebirth.

However, the narcissus is better known as a symbol of vanity and self-love. According to legend, Narcissus fell madly in love with his reflection, fell into the water in an unfulfilled yearning, and drowned. His resurrection he celebrated as a flower, radiantly beautiful and fragrant.

In Chinese culture daffodils are considered a symbol of happiness, and in the Islamic culture, the flowers are highly valued.

Because they bloom especially in the spring, daffodils are best given away at Easter, as a greeting to the coming summer or as a colorful bouquet along with other spring flowers. In particular, the Yellow Narcissus, which is also referred to as a daffodil, is popular as a gift for Easter.
