There is a group of people who affirm NASA never got to the moon. But here is something to think about.
There must have been some kind of rehearsal, in some kind of studio, before actually going to the moon in order to follow a strict procedure. Some of us have seen posted photographs and declarations from people close to the mission who said that they collaborated to build a studio setting.
Landing on the moon was the most important mission for NASA. This was going to be the first time humans were to put their feet on a piece of rock 384400 Km away from any help.
Approaching the moon was done in 2 previous missions, so they mastered all the steps previous to detach an additional equipment (LEN) with 2 people inside and make a successful landing, and then, take off and couple with the capsule again to return safely to earth.
If we think a little about it, this involves a lot of precise maneuvers and procedures. Landing and taking off were not easy tasks But of course, they could be done in simulators o earth. Recordings of such events in NASA's simulators must be stored in some place, where they keep the simulators tests.
Something very different is being on the surface of the moon. There is not simulator there. So, they may have to simulate an area in which the could follow all the steps planned.
Getting off a simulated lunar module (Eagle), all dressed up for the occasion, opening compartments and release equipment and cables, collecting rocks, planting the flag and many minuscule tasks which may endanger the mission if done wrongly.
They had to mimic the terrain, lighting, the position of the sun and follow all the steps of the most important mission and the first in which we were to put out feet on the moon. They must have filmed the whole mission on earth, in a simulated area, to find errors and correct them. This is absolutely logical, But those films required, somehow got out to the public and, of course, generated doubts, because in reality, they looked fake.
We did go to the moon, but for some reason, there will always be, a group of people who generate doubts in the public. Next time will be when humans get to mars.
