Watching

Hiding in the greenery
In the shadows of our minds
Slipping behind the scenery
Such a marvelous find.

Elusive and effusive
Changing shapes as it goes
Passing through forms illusive
Ending up where no one knows.

Adrift in our thoughts, ideas alight
Filtered each time by the watcher
Set there to make things right
In our ears, whispers of the Father

Watching and gliding and guiding;
A conscience is a marvelous thing.

I never thought of a conscience quite that way before, and I like it.

I have some rather unorthodox points of view vis a vis religion and God.
You remember the verse where it instructs us to "Pray Unceasingly"?
"1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 English Standard Version (ESV)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

What if you think of prayer like a "phone call to God".
You (or most folks I know) begin a prayer something like "dear Heavenly Father"
or "Dear God"...that is when you pick up the phone and dial the number.

Then most people will say (or think) "in Jesus Name, AMEN" or just "Amen"
That is when you hang up the phone.

So consider if you never hung up the phone, if you never said AMEN?
Then every word, every thought you had would be part of the prayer, since you
NEVER HUNG UP THE PHONE "Praying Without Ceasing"
We know He is listening all the time anyway, but since **WE** ended the call,
We don't take that into account normally.
Something to think about, no? Thanks for reading and commenting @scribblingramma

I understand what you are saying, because I frequently have brief conversations with God, and there's no "Dear God" or "Amen" to it. It's somewhat like Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof;" if you've seen that you'll know what I mean.
