It’s amazing that Zig Ziglar was broke and in debt when he was 45. We know him from his “after” stage, and it’s easy to imagine that he grew up positive and successful. When in fact, he was broke, approaching retirement.
His life turned around when he turned his head around. And even more importantly, he had a change of heart.
That sounds like an accident. In fact, he changed his heart.
It takes a spark of inspiration, a seed of enlightenment. That’s grace. But then, the difference is made by what we do with that tiny spark. Do we fan it into flame? Do we nurture the seed?
It’s all up to us, at that point. It takes courage.
