When You Feel Like You Can't Go On Anymore

in motivation •  6 years ago

We all have been there at some point in our lives when we feel like we have reached our breaking point. Your spirit is weak, your body feels numb and going through another day feels like a great deal of punishment. Everything seems to be working against you and you just can't seem to handle it.

You feel like your energy has been drained by all the circumstance that has hit you hard on the face and a little push might bring to your end. But what you don't realize is that you are much stronger than you think because you are still alive, you have pushed on for so long and deep down inside you, you sense a great deal of hope.

Those stormy days will come and can be really crazy (and overwhelming) to handle. If this phase is not handled properly, it can develop into something really nasty that you really wouldn't wanna face.

These days when you feel drained and frustrated might look like nothing but negative, but the thing is that these storms are probably there to prepare you for the great and positive change that might be coming your way soon. So, don't give up!

You might not be able to tame the storm, but you can change the how to handle it and that really is key. So, here are a few things you might wanna bear in mind and can help you out when you feel like you have reached your breaking point:

1. Be Kind to Yourself

There is a high possibility of you being extremely hard on yourself when this phase comes around, but that isn't gonna help out in any way, in fact, it will only hurt you more and offer no real solution. Maybe you took a wrong step or made a not so good decision that brought about the storm (which seem to have persisted for so long) but beating yourself won't sort it out. Be patient and kind towards yourself, that is the best gift you can give yourself in moments like this when all things seem to have conspired against you.

2. Find Peace and Happiness Within

Dwelling on the outside for peace of mind when things get crazy may be more of a futile effort. The real and sustainable peace and comfort is that which sprout from within, find your peace and don't let it go.

3. Find Your Drive

Okay, maybe nothing around you seem to motivate you but you will need to motivate yourself to keep moving and living life and in order to do that, you will need to find your drive, it will go a long way in helping you to keep going on.

4. Stay Positive

That's about one of the hardest things to do when you feel you are at the edge of breaking down, however, it is essential to learn (and practice) to see the positive rather than the negative which is often times the obvious. Look at the bigger picture; the life you have, the beautiful things that are yet to come and the things you are learning.

5. Don't be Afraid to Start All Over Again

Sometimes, that really is the only way out. Don't let yourself get stuck with what you are familiar (and not happy) with because you are scared of breaking out of that box. The chaos was probably there to make you realize that you need a change, for the better.

Things might be crazy right now, and might probably get much crazier but there will be someday when you will look back and realize how strong you were, appreciate the lessons you've learnt, the growth you went through and be thankful that you hanged on.

There will still be days when you feel horrible when all you want to do is cry your eyes out, and days when you just want to disappear. But someday, you are gonna feel less horrible, deal with the pains better and be your best. You are gonna grow out of it!

Much Love, Audrey

I am currently at that point in my life where I can't take it anymore. I finished from the university last year july and am supposed to be doing my NYSC by now. But Nasu strike came up last year and prevented my school from mobilizing us. Sometimes I get tired of waiting, because at this point am in a fixed, not making any progress and I can't get a well paid Job without my NYSC certificate. But like you said, one thing that has kept me going is positivity, I strongly believe that I will soon cross this phase of my annoying life and it will be soon.

I can totally understand, being at one point when you are supposed to be moving forward can feel really crazy. But it is just a phase and pretty soon, you will come out of it stronger!

Yes o. Thanks!

You're welcome!
