JOHN HENRY part 1
There was a man named John Henry.
He worked for railroads companies,
His work was to hammer a steel drill into rocks so there could be holes for explosives to blast the rocks for suitability of railroads construction.
Technology came and there was "steam-powered hammer" which was less time-consuming. It called for instant lay-offs of workers...
John Henry, seeing this decided to "compete with the machine"(in the drilling of rock)
They went for the competition and John Henry won only to die in victory(due to stress) with his hammer in his hand.
Then I ask the question " is it worth it?"
Many times we've been like John Henry, running after irrelevant victory leaving the important things undone...
Of what benefit is your success when you don't have time for your family?
Of what benefit is your religious life when you don't have time to build your spiritual life?
Of what benefit is "living to please others" if it takes away your inner joy?
Don't be carried away when the society praises the "John Henry" in you, go for the real success, go for GOLD.
Happy new month...
As you start the second part of the year, resolve not to be John Henry
