I was coversing with a friend the other day, and i said something which shocked her and she was like, adam and here i was thinking,you had become better,and i immediately corrected that impression.
The goal is not to become better,the goal is to become me.
I know she might have not understood it,and i am guessing you too might not, because you might think,arent we all trying to become better versions of ourselves.
This is it, the Goal in life is supposed to be,becoming who you were created to be, like a finished product,not a better person,and also there is no set or definite standard, because we are always better than someone somewhere,so its a very vague standard by which your growth should be measured .
In case you don't really get my point, let me use this illustration.

I know at times,some of us watch documentaries and we'd see a female lion, training and guiding the cub, teaching him how to hunt, how to feed, how to scout, how to fight off others and all those animal kingdom animal tutorials 😁😁😁.

Why do we think she is doing all of this?
She's is not doing all this so that the cub becomes a very good fighter,or hunter and most of all she's not doing it because she wants the cub to be a better cub, she is taking all that stress, and effort and time to train the cub, so that it can grow into a LION, NOT a BETTER cub.
So you see what i was saying,
You goal in life should be to find out who you truly are, who is trapped within you,just like a lion is trapped in a cub,so is greatness trapped in you.

Anyone can speak better, anyone can have good character,anyone can be mature, but nobody can or will ever be YOU,find out who you truly are and do everything you can to be that person.

As a person who believes in self improvement, I do not totally agree with you. Am sure you are someone who believes quite a lot in predestination, well I don't. Because, I'll compare this with the article I read from you some time ago. We are not moons, we are sons. A son has the authority to choose to be what he believes is good or a better person.
Do you mean that a person who's born wit kleptomaniac spirit, should settle to becoming his real self - a thief?
Someone who's born with the natural tendency to sleep with little kids settle into becoming his real him - a paedophile?
How about someone who's psychic is built to be a serial killer. He enjoys from killing people and sometimes become ill and depress if he haven't had someone to kill for a while. Maybe we should not arrest them cause they were simply being themselves.
Don't get me wrong, I get your message, but what am saying is that we have the power to choose what we want. And if what we are isn't what we aim to be, them change course and become a better you.

okay let me explain something, yes i believe in predestination, i believe God predestined us to be someone for a particular reason, but God has never built anyone to be a psychic killer, or predestined anyone to sleep with little kids, that's a result of that person's upbringing,environment and self concept, not predestination.
we are all here for a reason,to serve a particular purpose just like different parts of a car come together and function to make the car move, the fact that an engine plug becomes faulty is not because the manufacturer made it so, the manufacturer,created that plug, with a vision in mind,he saw how the plug could bring power to the engine then he created it and put it there, but if that plug works or functions ,or causes the car to blow up is based on the actions of the person who brought that car,not the manufacturer.
I hope you get my point, so what i am saying is find out how you were supposed to fit in the plan of domination, God has made for man and then become that person because that's who you truly are, not what your environment has caused you to become,so don't a better version of who you environment has caused you to be for example (a better faulty-engine plug) ,become the real you(your predestined self)

Ow....i totally agree with your point....but i feel circumstances have painted images into people...images that they are not.....and trying to be better at serial killing or child molestation does not speak good both for the serial killer or the pedophile. Well, what i feel is that @emmanueladam91 could have included something like " find the good you and choose to be it" or "you have more in store that can positively affect the world, find it and keep being you"...
