SO I WAS AWAY FOR 2 DAYS GETTING SOMEONE MARRIED...NOW I'M BACK!!!

Hello Friends,

Those who know me very well on this platform would have noticed by now that I post everyday. It has been like that ever since I started here on this platform. So if there's a day you don't see my post on your feed then know that it has to be something serious.

IN THIS CASE, that 'something serious' is a matrimonial one between my younger sister and her darling. I just had to be there for the traditional marriage ceremony to see those two united.

I got home (my village) very late on Wednesday in preparation for the wedding the next day. Got reunited with my parents after almost a year of seeing them last. My siblings were all there in their shiny apparels.

Early morning the next day, we were up and about setting up the canopies for the event while the women cooked different dishes. You know how it is in this part of the world. The food must be of variety- jollof rice, white rice & stew, eba, garri, egusi soup, 'Draw' soup, abacha etc.

You know people love to drink too. So we had to make sure the palm wine was down and plenty. Beer of different brands including Star, Life, Hero, '33 etc were all there. The women loved their malt drink so Amstel was there to represent. other soft drinks like Coca-cola, Fanta, Sprite helped people wash down their hunger. Lolx.

By the time the occasion kicked off proper, everyone was all hyped up and ready to go. My sister had been made up in the most amazing way by her team of Ashoebis. They stringed out on a single file while dancing dramatically to the rhythm of the drums and deafening sounds of the huge speakers (just the way we liked it).

The next time she came out, she was wearing a different aparrel. This time, she searched for her husband (it has a deep cultural relevance). She eventually saw him, sitting on the corner of one of the canopies amidst the numerous young men and bachelors saying "I'm the one! I'm the one!!". Lolx.

So the crowd cheered when she knelt down and handed him the cup of palmwine. They cheered even more as he gulped it entirely and helped her up. That was where the main celebration started. The volume of the music in the air increased. Waists bent low and hearts danced until mama called later that night.

Friends and wellwishers came to spray them some hard currency... you know how that goes...the more you spray, the cooler you become. lolx. If you have got the cheddar, infact you spray until you get tired and begin to throw bundles. And if you are like E-Money, you may invent your own money-spraying gun. Lolx. Well, I'm Nairadaddy so I did my own thing for my younger sister.

God-willing their union will be blissful. You know its not just the wedding that makes an everlasting union, its actually more of what what happens after the wedding. So since they publicly proclaimed that they LOVE each other, I expect the marriage to last till GOD/DEATH do them apart.
