In a state there lived a king who was very arrogant. Because of his arrogance, his relation with the neighboring states was not good. Once a Monk was passing from that place, he also heard about the king and tried to teach the king a lesson.
The Monk quickly went straight inside to the palace without asking the guards. When the King saw this he was full of anger the king said - What is the nature of this? Sir, how did you come in without any permission?
The Monk replied politely - I want to stay in this inn tonight. When the King heard this he felt very bad, and said that Sir this is my palace and not inn, so please go somewhere else.
The Monk said - O King, who owned this palace before you? King - my father's, Monk – and before that? King - my grandfather's.
Sadhu smiled and said - O king, the way people come to stay in the inn for a while, this is your palace which some time back belonged to your grandfather, and after that your father owned it, now For some time you have it, tomorrow someone else will.
This palace that you boast so much is an inn where a person comes for some time and then goes. The King was so impressed by the words of the Monk he fell at the feet of the monk, apologized to Mahatma ji and took an oath of never boasting again.
Friends, this is not just a story, but a very big lesson in this story is hidden. This world is like a Inn where some people come everyday and some people go everyday. Keep a good thought, do good work, because one day everyone has leave this room.
True meaning of life lies in helping others
