We all have great ideas that we would like to come to fruition. Some of you may even be on the path to achieving your dreams. Where ever you are on the path to success, keeping yourself motivated can be very difficult on your worst days. From owning your own business or working a regular 9 to 5 job we can sometimes find ourselves not wanting to get up in the morning. This is something I struggle with often so here are some things I try to keep myself going:

Write Down Your Goals and Plans 👌

This is an exercise I use every day. I keep a notebook with me everywhere I go. Throughout the day whenever I get a chance I write down all the ideas I have for whatever project I’m working on. (I actually used this method to create this blog post lol) This helps organize your thoughts and reminds you of what you came up with. If you write it down as soon as you come up with an idea you guarantee that you won’t forget it in the future. When you write down your ideas it is symbolic of your intention to move forward with them. It’s the first step to making them a reality.

Reflect on Your Goals, Visualize Them for 30 Minutes a Day (In Silence)😌

This is one of the most important exercises to me. All things in the universe are comprised of thought, word, and deed. This means that it’s a 3 step process to taking an idea and turning it into a real thing. All things started as a thought at one point or another. All of the greatest things that humanity has created started out in someone’s head. They took that idea and wrote it down in the form of a business plan, architectural schematics, etc. Then it was spoken to someone like an investment meeting, a pitch etc. Then it is executed. This is where most people stop. Everyone has ideas but unfortunately most ideas are never realized. By reflecting on your goals and visualizing them, they are from that moment real; you just have to make it happen. Whenever you are having a bad day take a deep breath and visualize your goals realized. Let your imagination run wild. This will revitalize you and motivate you to get to that realization.

Make a Schedule for Your Day 😱

I was shocked when I started doing this. I had never made a schedule for myself because I always had a to-do list. A to-do list, as you keep adding to it, the list becomes overwhelming. A schedule on the other hand, you can give yourself a set amount of time for each task every day. The important thing is to stick to it! Making a schedule is a waste of time if you don’t stick to it. Making a schedule will let you visually see how much you have accomplished at the end of the day. It also makes you more efficient with your time which will in turn motivate you.

Listen to Motivational Speeches/Videos 👍

This is very important as well. Every morning first thing I do while I brush teeth is listen to a motivational speech on YouTube. It should be the first thing you listen to when you wake up. No Facebook, no Instagram, nothing. What you hear in the first 20 minutes of your day will influence how you feel for the rest of that day. I didn’t believe it when I heard this advice but when I tried it the first time I felt energized and motivated. My day went great I had a great attitude and people noticed. These motivational videos/speeches give you a different perspective. You may even find out that these successful people have gone through similar or even worse situations than you have and still succeeded.

Read Books Relevant to the Field You Want To Be In 😜

This should be common sense, but it is something I didn’t even think of. I have always thought of myself as a pretty decent business minded person and I thought I would just figure it out somehow. I thought all successful people at one point just had an epiphany and then success came. WRONG! It takes a lot of work and reading more books will increase your knowledge on the field and will broaden your expertise. The average person reads 1 book a year, and the average CEO reads 5 books a MONTH! Huge difference in books read and bank account statements. Just find the top people in your field, if you want to do social media read Gary Vaynerchuk’s Crush it (great book btw), Rich Dad poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and many more. The key is to gain as much knowledge and insight in whatever you are trying to do. Become a sponge.

Just like anything else, motivation takes time and effort. All of these ideas may take some time to put into your daily routine, but greatness also takes time. Success takes time and wisdom takes time. Do you deserve these things? You must decide that for yourself, and when you realize that we all deserve these things you are a step closer to achieving your dreams.
