The Sorrow of Soul Through Flesh - Suppression

in motivation •  2 years ago

There are a number of ways that the soul can be suppressed. One of the most common reasons is substance abuse. Another is internal disturbance, such as depression. Other reasons include familial and religious restrictions. When these factors are present, the soul can't align with the truth. If this occurs, it may manifest as the aforementioned small miracle. It's not always easy to get back on track.

Suppression is a technical death metal act consisting of two former members of Ripper. They use a combination of old school Floridian death metal and high-tempo thrash attack to achieve their signature sound. The band is a bit like Luc Lemay, the former bassist of Monstrosity. They have a lot of hype surrounding their debut album, The Sorrow of Soul Through Flesh, which is set to be released on April 25th via Unspeakable Axe Records.

They are also releasing a vinyl version of the record on Dark Descent Records, which should be out soon. Their style is also reminiscent of the old school Death, notably Morbid Angel's "Desolation Ways". This band is the best of the best.

The band also has a pretty neat opener, a short groove accompanied by a snarling vocal that is uncannily similar to the one on Floridians Resurrection. Similarly, their riffs are very well crafted. While the album does not contain a symphony of riffs, they do have a few. Besides the opener, their song 'Alimony' is a must-listen for any fan of classic malevolent creation.

The album is a technical brew that makes a good case for a few nifty riffs. They also have some of the most clever lyrics I've heard in a long time. In particular, their lyrics make the point that the soul is an important part of life, but it is not necessarily what makes us who we are. Ultimately, the music is just as important.

There's a reason they call it the Sorrow of Soul Through Flesh. During the colonization wars, food soul soldiers were a good thing. In fact, they were ideal killing machines. However, they were not immortal, and when they died, they went to Hell. These soldiers were a big step up from the typical human. As a result, they fought a tough battle, but eventually surrendered. But in the end, they did find out a few things about their enemy. Some were wiser than others. And some had learned from their mistakes.

Although Suppression's debut is a tad too short to be a must-listen, it does prove that their music is more than just a clone of the genre. From the opening riff to their signature style of high-tempo thrash attack, it's a smorgasbord of old school Floridian death metal and modern-day technical death metal. Like the Floridians, they have a few tricks up their sleeves.

In the end, the Sorrow of Soul Through Flesh is the most impressive '90s death metal album I've heard in a while. Even with the gimmicks being a bit overdone, it does a good job of proving that the 'Suffocation' name is still relevant.
