Morning Steemers,

So most of you will be aware by now that the current Lucas Oil Pro Motocross 250 MX points leader, Jeremy Martin, was involved in a very serious crash with Justin Cooper during round five at Muddy Creek this past weekend. Martin has undergone surgery to repair his burst L1 and the prognosis is very good. This is pretty astounding considering the severity of the injury, this could have been devastating and I'm over the moon that things are on the up for the Honda rider. He released a statement on social media earlier today.

Incredibly disappointing to have my season end like this. This title was mine and I was finally back to the old j mart. But this is apart of being a professional motocross racer. I have been getting the best care and support here in Bristol, My surgery went well and we are on the road to recovery. Thank you for all the love and messages and to all the fans that come out and support me at the races and support all of us riders. I will be back on a bike before to soon and blessed to have the best team in the pits Factory Honda behind me.... 💪"

In a season where the 250 MX class has been decimated with injuries this is great news that he has been given the all clear already to focus on a recovery and return to riding. The 'lites' class has taken a massive battering this year and i wonder if we will see some big changes in Supercross next season. Speeds are on the increase and jumps and dangers seem to be going up with them, a lot of people have been calling for a change to the format to bring the speeds and jumps down a bit. I wonder if they will have their voice heard this time?
