Hi Steemit! I'm b0y2k and i wanna share the gift of motocross

Hi guys,

I'm b0y2k and as you can tell with my posts in #motocross its a big passion of mine.
I've always been into #bikes, especially ones with engines haha. The noise, the smell and of course #SPEED ! haha

I've been doing my best to get some content up on steemit and what better way to do it than showing you a few of my own pics. I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination but i love it.

So i am hoping to address this and show the world what a great sport and past time motocross is. What better way to do that but on #steemit :)

Motocross has got a bad reputation across the years, mostly due to the people MX'ers hate the most... thieves! They are the ones that steal our pride and joy and race it up and down the street or cause havoc riding places they shouldn't. This stereotype couldn't be further from the reality of motocross.

It's one big family, literally!
Families travel out for race meetings each weekend as a unit. Not many places do you see kids spending so much time with family and enjoying it! BBQ's and kids playing out in the wild, climbing trees, getting muddy etc haha... very rare in the modern world and great to see.

Father and son bond
You will have to look very hard to find a better bond between father and son than at an MX race. It's simply amazing to think these parents give up all their free time and money to invest in their kids fun. It takes a lot to get that bike and child on the starting line each week. Both financially and emotionally... as the motocross mothers know all to well haha.

If you're a rider yourself then please post some pics here! #2stroke, #4stroke or plain old tarmac grinder it doesn't matter to me :)

Best piece of advice i was given about motocross...
"Get your children into motocross and they will never have any money for drugs"
hahah :) +1

Thanks mate :) super pumped to be here :)

Wow surprise!
But securely driving please :)

Love MX, and I'm in my 50s now. You never outgrow it. I do miss the 2 strokes, and the smell of castor oil coming out of the back end of a tricked out 125 going WFO.

You never forget the sound of the Ring-a-ding of those bikes :)
My foster brother still rides a smoker now! He rides a KTM 150 against 250-450s and has been known to pull a few wins out :)

Cool! That pics on the air are really awesome!

hey @b0y2k nice to see your passion, welcome 8]

I can see why you love motorcross. Never tried it, but I bmx'ed on a parcour with ramps before. Kinda gives the same experience I believe.
Great post!

cheers @rules169
You would think having an engine on the bike would make it easier wouldn't you haha... could not be further from the truth :D
Defo has alot in common though :)

The extra weight is the most difficult no?

I love to see people who have found their passion! :)

Nice post..

Very cool pictures, thanks for sharing your interests here!

How long have you been involved with MX?

Thanks mate,
I have been riding for about 8 years now i think. Too late in life to be amazing at it unfortunately haha.
I see how fast some of the young kids are and its amazing thinking how good they will be...
I would've given anything to ride as a kid but we were not a rich family.
I waited till i had my own money and followed the dream :) haha

Back in the 70s, it was not necessarily a rich man's sport. I mostly bought my own bikes and paid my own way. My dad didn't really need to contribute muchn and I mooched a lot of rides with my friend's families. The little 4 cyl pickup trucks were avail then and got 30mpg and gas was cheap. Race entry fees were really low, and 2 strokes were cheap to rebuild.

i know what you mean... modern motocross has money splashed all over it! I used to ride my friends TR 50 smoker after school in his dads field in the late 80s. It was way to tall for me haha, constantly falling off...

I grew up in San Francisco, and believe it or not, in those days we could and did easily get away with riding on Mt San Bruno. My best friend and racing buddy lived in Brisbane near S. San Fran and we could ride one block on the streets and be in the dirt. We had many practice tracks there. We even made an illegal (but never busted or even hassled) track near the San Francisco zoo. You could sometimes hear the animals if it was feeding time, and of course they could probably hear us. LOL.

edit for typo

it's always been my dream , @b0y2k

keep living that dream @maxumkichev! took me a while to get myself to the races! I still have to rely on people to help out now. That's what makes motocross so great though. There is always someone ready to help out.

Damn, that father son impression... can it get any cooler than that?!
