Addiction

in mountains •  7 years ago  (edited)

Cannot describe the excitement every time I put on my shoes to hit the road, to hit the mountain, to go trekking to feel the nature on my lap, on my neck, on my face, just by breathing in.

It's like a rush of blood, not only to the head, but to every part of my body. It's revitalizing. It's not tiring, as you may think, it gives me energy, it makes me new.

Mountaineering makes you think deeper because you breathe deeper, you exhale stronger, you find yourself swallowing the oxygen you are missing. It takes your mind to different places, unlike drugs it heals your mind. You always come back stronger.

Always look for that temporary disconnection peace. Escape, while you can. Make love to nature, in silence. Connect to it and find your way.

Hiking is a good addiction.

Today, I cannot imagine a life without trembling dusks, heavenly dawns and mountain peaks.
I have to say: I'm an addict.

Because whether it is a normal casual day at home or a boring studying day, I'm just thinking in getting ready to go hiking, to hit the mountain, to feel the cold wind in my face, the sweat in my body, my heart beating while I go up faster and faster while my rhythm starts accelerating, the changing landscape perspective while I go up and up, the unique sky you are only going to see once, cause' everytime is different, each time is special. The intrigue to wonder how the sky is going to look like from up above. The cool funny experience of watching the city lights shrink while you go up, to watch them sleep and then, get up.

()

And the anytime satisfying fulfillment to reach the peak, the mountain peak. To be at the same level or higher as the clouds.

)

Nature is the only good addiction.

You are so right about mountains. There is a sense of wonder about them that no other natural landscape can provide.

What I think it is, for me, is that they are the one type of landscape that humans have not fully conquered. We can irrigate the desert and build huge cities there. We can chop down the jungle and build huge cities there. We can build huge cities on the coastline, on the steppes, but we can't do it in the mountains. You only ever see small towns and villages in big mountains.

There is something so romantic about driving a twisty mountain road or going on a mountain hike. Especially when it's summer but the mountain is still high enough to have snow, that's something that always inspires awe within me.

Which country are you from? Where do you like to go climbing? My favourite country for mountains is Pakistan.

Hi! I'm from Venezuela. And I never thought it that way, but I think you're right cause' mountains offer you a totally different experience from the normal flat trekking, or just going for a walk into the woods. Reaching the top in always going to be much interesting, cause' it requires some sort of conquering, as you say. Here, in my country we excel in mountains, and there's plenty to do, plenty high peaks to conquer, just by climbing or just hiking. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to hike elsewhere. :)

I think the people that live in the mountains are different to the people that live anywhere else. I think they are a little more wild and in touch with nature.

I would love to visit Venezuela some day. I know there are political problems there, but I have also been to Pakistan and Iraq, so those kinds of things don't bother me too much. I think that every country has some value to offer.

Your photography is really nice. I'm going to follow your blog for more beautiful photos and inspiration from Venezuela. Also, I would really appreciate it if you would check out my blog. I'm also new on Steemit and I'm here to tell my story about travelling from India to Germany without using an aeroplane.

Cool! That sounds so cool. Will follow u too.

Awesome! You can find the first step of my journey here.
