Another movie for #movie-tips - and again a Korean movie.
This one is categorized as 'crime-comedy' on IMDB - I would mark it comedy.
It was my introduction to Korean cinema and I'm very glad, that I have found it.

This was shot four years before Oldboy and before Korean cinema got some recognition by the mainstream.

주유소 습격 사건 ( South Korea, 1999 )

English Title:

Attack the Gas Station !

Again, I recommend you watch it in Korean with subtitles.
You will hear a lot of 'Shhh' and my favourite Korean sentence: 'Heddi Pago' (excuse the phonetic).

I don't want to give away too much and spoil it.

It's a lightweight, easy comedy.

Some moments seem a bit silly and there is a musical style scene, where some of them start singing. But it's not a cheesy movie and apart from that two-minute cringe-worthy scene it also creates some tension.

I like it for being rather minimalistic, as most of the movie is shot in one location.
I'm not giving too much away, when I say most of it happens in a gas station.

No more spoilers.

During research for this, I noticed that they made a sequel to it.
I will watch that later today.

For now, I recommend you

grab a drink and some snacks and watch it.

@felixxx I haven't seen this one
does it have any violence on it?
I like one that would make me really roll laughing on the floor :)
anyhow, am glad you're posting often - way to go man!
not many pips watch Korean movies so keep it comin' they don't know what they're missing - laughter is the best medicine so when very very bored I watch funny Korean movies too .

It's has many fighting scenes, but it isn't violent. ( no blood or gore )

Safe to watch with children, I think.

@felixxx well.. they're always hitting pips most of the time it's part of the culture
but I don't like ones with guns and no roses but rather blood spills more so knives - gore indeed

no children with us but we're all children at heart hahahaha
