The Judge (2014) by David Dobkin (REVIEW)

in movie •  6 years ago

Not sure if whether because of the festive atmosphere these days or that anyone can relate in this movie, I really liked “The Judge”.

It’s true that this movie have bad reviews and there is also some cliche moments and it’s kind of a long in duration, two hours and twenty minutes which I think it’s a solid duration for the movie to be able to develop and express the story.

The main characters are Robert Duvall and Robert Downey Jr. that are father and son in their roles, they are part of a family that lives in rural American city. The family has been separated more than 15 years ago and they are not communicating at all.

But, one event will unite them all on one place, the reason for their appearance will be death of the judge. At the same day, the day of the funeral there will be a car accident that will take the judge life as well and after those events the connection between Duvall & Downey Jr. will get stronger.

I would stop here and would recommend you to give it a try, the movie is full-filled with drama and good humor, even though the story is not comedy at all.
