Due to the unspecified virus of unknown origins causing huge delays for this film a lot of people involved had time to say a lot of stupid stuff which worried me. The first trailers didn't help.
Fortunately there's no tampon scene. Bond isn't placed on the back-burner in favor of more "inclusive" characters. He wasn't ridiculed without giving as good (or better) than he got.
This was a very good movie. It's hard to rank a movie out of a canonical series with twenty-five instalments; but, this was a top five for me.
There were some standard James Bond tropes; yet, it was still bold. The action sequences were spectacular. The performances were great across the board. The cinematography is the best of any Bond movie and, yes, I'm including Skyfall.
What's great is that, if you've seen all of the Bond movies, in terms of actual character, relationship, and plot points, this didn't break the mold except for two very! important aspects of the film that I won't talk about. They work well though.
If nothing else, this is the best last instalment of the Bond series for any actor playing the character yet.
I was pleasantly surprised.
