Finally watched this. The first act is basically note for note like the original including nearly identical lines. Second act though is extremely different.
The original is pretty unique. The language and overall direction build an unsettling tension that really isn't quite there in this remake to the same extent. And no spoilers but the ending of the original is brutal.
James McAvoy is of course good as he always is. Still not sure why the hell a movie from 2022 needed a remake other than that Americans are dumb and/or the director didn't like the original.
