Finding Nemo (film): My favorite Pixar

in movies •  6 years ago

There have been a lot of Pixar films made over the years and perhaps many will believe that some are better than others, perhaps even better than Finding Nemo. However, this is my blog post and i'll do what I want with it. This movie is perfect in my mind and I am entertained every time i watch it.

There are many reasons why i think this is the perfect move but I am sure all of you out there in internet land have already seen it and have your own reasons for loving this movie (I would honestly be surprised if anyone hated this film) but my major reasons are this.

  • The comedy is funny for kids and adults but often for different reasons
  • Dory

Take the turtles for example. A child likely has very little idea about surfer culture or about pot-heads (I'm not suggesting all surfers are potheads - i surf, i do not smoke weed) but kids still find these guys funny well, because they are funny. However, an adult watching this movie with their kids also think it is funny because we have likely all met someone who was a bit scatter-brained from excessive green.

There is also the "get off my lawn" fish that the children fish are always messing with. The sea-world version of doorbell ditching a neighbor. Harmless, but funny.

And then we move on to Dory who is likely one of the most lovable characters in any film, ever. Dory as I am sure you know, has terrible memory but is generally very kind. It is just hilarious how she forgets who Marlin is despite the fact that she met him just moments before.

She is also makes friends with just about anyone and everyone that she meets and perhaps this speaks to me because I have a friend who is extremely (sometimes annoyingly) aloof but befriends almost anyone immediately because of her genuine kindness.

Her companion, Marlin (Nemo's Dad) gets frustrated with Dory because he is more logical and doesn't believe in things unless there is a reason to do so, he is also a pessimist and tends to think that people who act "dumb" cant be trusted to know anything useful. I know people like Marlin as I tend to show more of his characteristics than Dory's. So this movie actually taught me something. Sometimes you need to "just keep swimming." haha

Overall this movie should appeal to everyone. I have seen this movie I dunno how many times and anytime I am around kids I will put this on if i have it. They are just as entertained as I am despite the fact they have almost certainly seen it dozens of times as well. It is, in my mind, one of the most perfect movies ever made. Feel free to disagree, but I would love to know why you feel that way if you do.

Love, love, love Nemo! In my opinion one of the best animated films ever. One of the first that really tried to appeal to both kids and adults.

I agree with you that Nemo is a good movie, but I would prefer The Incredibles rather than Nemo if I had to watch a movie tonight. Probably like the action of The Incredibles, and also the humor... But, Nemo is a great movie :)

Dorryyyy!!! I love it. It was unexpected to see a blog on such film by you. definitely deserving ratings.

This is one of the movies I liked the most when I took my little girl to the movies. The animation is beautiful, the message is deep. Marlin is an overprotective father who wants to find his lost son accompanied by Dory, my favourite character too. Parents would do anything for our children. I can't get enough of watching this film with my little nephews and nieces, it's very beautiful. I completely agree with the score you gave her, a good 10/10 @gooddream. Greetings.

The story employs the same basic formula used in "Toy Story," in which two characters, one uptight and the other clueless, are thrown together as they're forced to journey through a world populated by creatures that are a lot more knowing than the humans realize. This movie, however, creates a unique character in Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a fish with short-term memory loss. To give a cartoon character a real human disorder is risky, to say the least, and I'm glad the filmmakers didn't lose the nerve to include this ingenious device, which not only generates some of the film's biggest laughs, but reinforces the character interaction that is so central to the story. This is in fact the only Pixar film to feature true character development. In the course of his voyage, Marlin learns to be more adventurous, getting parenting tips from a surfer-dude turtle voiced by the film's director Andrew Stanton, while his son Nemo learns to be self-reliant.

Of course, none of the sharks, jellyfish, whales, gulls, pelicans, lobsters, and humans that Marlin encounters along the way really mean any harm. They're just doing what they do. As Nigel the Pelican tells Nemo at one point, "Fish gotta swim, birds gotta eat." That's perhaps the film's most interesting insight, that there are no true villains, just creatures that act according to their nature, and a few that transcend it.

Wao what a wonderful and funny movie for kids.10 out of 10 thats so great.I also love this movie.Beacuse sometime you so sad.And these type funny movie. You become happy.Very great performance.Very beautiful swimming.Very beautiful things in the water. Thanks for sharing.

i think this movie can make anyone happy. There are so many emotions inside of it. Great for everyone :)

This one is cool. So is 'Finding Dory'

I love the cartoon and would like to watch it again. My best character was Doly and that was because of hersincerity and open heartedness. These are great qualities than being smart or logical. Nemo's dad I guess wasn't initially pessimistic- life nutured the ugly virtue . However he was a cool guy.

I really love cartoons, there are some lessons you learn from them that is difficult to see in most adult movies (I guess thats why those lessons are incoperated into cartoons- to groom the kid). Even after having my kids, I'd still continue to watch cartoons and laugh at the jokes.

I will give 100/10 for this movies. Best animation movies i have seen so far..it includes emotions, comedy, realtions, journey in life, adventure and everything. Thats why it got OSCAR award.i had seen about 10 times and i never get bored...such a wonderful movie.hats off to director and pixar for creating awesome movie.
Thanks you
