End Game

I've always been that weird guy that refuses to watch a movie that is overhyped until everyone has forgotten about it. I know it's silly, but I'm being honest here. That being said, I ended up caving in, simply because this movie was all over my feeds. After reading it had broken all records in the box office, I simply had to betray my silly little rule.

I won't lie, I've been an avid fan of comics for as long as I can remember, and even though I'm pushing forty, I still have a small collection of them. I'm fascinated by the stories, by the art and the psychological elements that are portrayed in these fictitious characters. The mental explorations have always fascinated me, and it's undeniable at this point that superheroes are very much part of our culture.

So, with revised expectations, because I did not want to be disappointed, I watched End Game. The movie is long, very long, but honestly It did not feel like it. I was entertained the whole way through, and what's even more important is that for the most part everyone had a chance to shine, without it feeling forced, which has always been my main critique when it comes to superhero films.

I won't reveal spoilers on this short post of mine, as I think that's a douche move to make, but I will say that you should be prepared for a not so happy ending. In other words, the storytelling is more powerful because they did not default into "everyone is happy in the end" mold that has bored me to death for more than a decade now.

Don't wait, go watch it... have fun.

First time in 6 months that I left the house and it was to watch this bad boy in a movie house.

I can say that it didn't feel that long to me but I did feel thirsty because I skipped having a drink to avoid the need to pee.

It was a culmination of over a decade of storylines, characters and plots.

I love how it was fleshed out and there were some moments that had some invisible ninjas cutting onions. I left the movie house extremely satisfied.

I love comic books and their stories and characters . the MCU is definitely something I appreciate and to be honest in comics I was more into DC but I have grown to love the characters in the MCU.

Great review @meno and I should watch this movie!

They changed the original ending from the comics. I think the new ending is acceptable, although sad.

Greetings, @meno.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who will agree with me (to the hard-core fans, please, don't hate me). Like you, I usually avoid hyped cultural artifacts (movies, books, places), but my daughters fell in for all this trend, etc.
Last night I started watching End Game (only because we were at a relative's apartment and there was free internet and a website where you could watch it free).
I could not pass the first hour of the movie (end of game for me).
As i commented in twitter, the creative minds behind this movie made it very difficult for commedians to come up with parodies of the story.
I don't even want to knwo what happens in the remaining two hours of movie. That first hour was an insult (it would have been better if Thor and Banner had been ashed-away in the previous movie).
Sorry, I had to say it.

I enjoyed it even though I have hardly read any comics. It's been fun following the series with my son

Haha I could make the same post today. I let the hype die down, practice a little discipline to avoid consuming spoilers, and head later on.

I enjoyed it and am impressed how many things they did theatrically.

The Infinity series was my favorite when collecting comics so to see it come to life over these years has been a great experience. The last movie did it justice with regards to the story telling!
