Sorry, but you are completely mistaken. Media is a totally and very powerful entity, but the underlying power are its stories. Remember, all religions are based around BOOKS and STORIES, not opinions, culture, or ethics. Those stories are woven into the psychology and cosmology of its respective COMMUNITY. At its core, story is like a spiritual TATTOO in a person's psyche, so you may dismiss the power of media, but I will charge you to go read about 4 of Vance Packard's books and view a few documentaries on Edward Bernays and I trust that you'll change your mind. As for voting and talking about the media, I have mastered the Moral Premise, so it gives me the ability to drill down into the core of any story and understand its message. And your ideology about the past is also a bit outdated -- remember all ancient societies understood that time is cyclical, so to dismiss something cause it's in the past goes ABUNDANTLY against those ancient people that built pyramids and Stonehenge and Puma Punka...we have to secede those people were more advanced in every way than we are today, so if they all agreed on something, it is beyond being TRUE....Just something to think about....(leaning back)....(your turn).....

hhhhh you seem to be enjoying this argument as well :)
Maybe it's because I don't live in America or a Western country that gives me a different perspective. I was taught from a very young age that everything that everything that shows up on a screen is something that you need to question, it's hard to understand that when you are super young, but it gets easier with time.
Your idea about stories reminds me of an argument I keep having with a Muslim friend of mine, the fact that a book is written by someone means that they have an agenda and a perspective, and not the unedited word of God. This is the problem with studying philosophy though, a lot of people in the real world will object to religious books being called stories, while other people even view his story as simply a story. You may have the ability to look at a Moral Premise, but other people will see something else in that story/book/movie, as a literature student let me tell you, you can interpret any text in many different ways and find many different meanings. There will never be just one truth, you can always argue a lot of different things.
As for Captain America I even read discussions here on Steemit that say that he encourages anarchism, any person will take it in his own direction.
I totally not understand what you wrote from "And your ideology about the past" and beyond. Your argument is unclear :P

It is unclear because you haven't done the research. Once again, go read Vance Packard's books and watch documentaries on Edward Bernays.....Between these two, the past has been an agenda from the beginning, not just something that happened.

I think I'll pass. I have finished with academics and I really hate philosophy, sorry :)

Also, it's not about doing the research, maybe it's the student in me, but your argument needs to be clear even if no one ever read the texts that you are referring to.

Ok ..... I accept your position..... Thanks again....

I don't know what for, but your welcome.
