The modern world is one in which transparency has a growing place of importance. People nowadays like choosing what they watch and listen to, where they travel, and how they live. Mass media and advertising no longer influence the masses as they once did. This is a great opportunity for indie artists to end up with a lot more fans. After all, in a world where we can search and find all sorts of really neat things on the Internet, who wants to like what the marketing gurus want us to like?

Blockchain technology is all about transparency. This immutable solution basically means that what you see (or hear) is what you get. Indie artists can use blockchain to get their content out to people without intermediaries and form solid relationships with the people buying it. This is all done transparently so everyone has access to payment history on content. Now, when you buy a song, you know that the artist is getting money for that song instead of some huge distribution company.

Another plus of blockchain and cryptocurrencies used on it is that they bring down the costs for content. This system gives more money to content creators, charges consumers less for what they buy, and helps to make pirated material a lot less appealing.

MoviesChain by TVzavr is a blockchain-based VoD platform that is aimed at indie filmmakers. To find out more about this project, go to www.movieschain.io.

I've always been confused about projects like this. The claim is that they're getting rid of the middle-man, but isn't MoviesChain the midde-man? One might claim that thy're not since they probably don't take a cut from the sale of the content. But they likely benefit from the token sales, so they're getting a cut, just in a different form. I'm guessing I don't understand how this works though. Can you explain my misunderstanding?
