Little Women Trailer is here

I read Little Women trilogy in recent years, so it is relatively fresh in my mind. Yes, it has more than one sequel because even back than popular books got unnecessary sequels.

Greta Gerwig is back and she directed and adapted the book that was written by Louisa May Alcott and was published in 1868.

In this version the amazing Saoirse Ronan plays Jo March, Emma Watson plays Meg March, Florence Pugh (who is definitely on the rise now) plays Amy March and Eliza Scanlen plays Beth March. On top of the four sisters Laura Dern plays the mother Marmee March, Meryl Streep plays Aunt March and Timothée Chalamet plays
Theodore Laurence.

I have to say that the tone of the trailer fits the perspective of what people think of Little Women more than what the novel actually is. Despite all of the groundbreaking freedoms it gave its female characters, it did not give them that much freedom. Even Jo did resent being a woman.

I am pretty sure that Greta Gerwig and Saoirse Ronan are here for their Oscars. Saoirse Ronan has been nominated three times and Greta Gerwig got pretty close with Ladybird. I think that only Saoirse Ronan will get awards for this movie.

My name is Joe too. As a kid, I saw bits and pieces of it. This new version may have a different perspective on it or a different emphasis.
