Crazy Rich Asians...thoughts?

Just watched Crazy Rich Asians, and I must say it was an excellent film. From the humor to the cultural references, to the soundtrack and the casting, everything was very tastefully done. In the previews it looks like your every day rom-com, but this movie being out means so much more than that.

Now I'm not saying this is our Black Panther, but this is kind of our Black Panther.shutterstock_9785558o.jpg

My entire life, I grew up never seeing people who looked like me get represented on any platform. All we had in the 90's was Rufio from Hook, and Keno from TMNT II. Words honestly can't describe what it feels like to be able to buy a ticket at my local theater and watch a movie with an entirely Asian cast like it's nothing. I'm just glad that Hollywood and the mainstream are finally starting to come around to a market that has always been here, we just needed a little representation to kick the door open.

I'm just super excited to see what the future holds.
