Hello Steemit community!

I fell in love and my new love is a TV Show “Skam” (English “Shame”).

It’s a Norwegian teen drama. Please don't leave)). I'm almost sure you'll be obsessed with SKAM.

If someone told me that I would watch a Norwegian TV show about teen problems, I would have killed him))). WTF?? My favorite shows are House of cards, The Walking Dead (except last seasons), Game of Thrones and etc.

But I’ve watched SKAM 4 seasons in 4 days…and I want to discuss.

I'm full of emotions and after I post my thoughts I want to watch it again and again..

SKAM information without spoilers.

• It has 4 seasons. Each season includes about 10-12 episodes, duration 15-60 minutes.
• Each season has focus on particular social problems and a new main character.
• A small budget, an excellent cast
• An interesting technique of shooting, as if you are watching a documentary
• Interesting dialogs full of sarcasm, sex and philosophy.
• Endless parties and alcohol.

and UNBELIEVABLE SOUNDTRACK.

There will be an American version with production expected to start in 2017 (I hope we'll see the first season next year).

And now spoilers.

SEASON 1. EVA (starring Lisa Teige)

Trailer of season 1

We meet Eva - a lonely girl without friends. She has a boyfriend - Jonas (I can't take my eyes off his eyebrows)).

The season 1 is about relationships, jealousy, trust and friendship.

Soon we find out that Eva is a loser at school and she has to join to any company. There's a Norwegian tradition to celebrate graduation in a party bus (it's called Russbus). Eva meet four girls and they have to join forces.

My conclusions

• There’s the only problem between Eva and Jonas – they don’t talk about their thoughts and feelings. I understand, they are teens, but still they have wise conversations. So why Eva don’t tell him about her jealous? She did so many mistakes.
• Sex scene according ‘Take me to church’ was f*cking awesome. God bless the director, please. And I was crying at the end of their relationships.
• Too much alcohol)))

SEASON 2. Noora (starring Josefine Frida Pettersen)

Trailer of season 2

My favorite season ever. I can say just "That's the way how LOVE looks like".

The season 2 is about trust, feminism and sexual assault.
I don't want to spoil this season, because I liked it too much. I hope you'll watch SKAM after reading this post.
Season 2 is amazing, unbelievable, hot, nervous. I sobbed without stopping last 4 episodes. Damn, you should do it.

SEASON 3. Isak (starring Tarjei Sandvik Moe)

Trailer of season 3

I don't like season 3 for two reasons: 1) Isak isn't an interesting person; 2) it's his story and we almost don't see the girls.

Season 3 is about coming out difficulties, homosexuality and the bipolar disorder.

As I said Isak isn't an interesting person for me. I don't feel connection with him. I can't sympathize with him, because I can't feel his pain. Isak isn't emotional guy, so I think they should dedicate this season to other guy, for example Eskild.
Eskild is housemate of Noora. He's gay. Eskild's so funny, you can't imagine.

My conclusions

• It’s a good story of friendship and love. Guys are not afraid to go against the whole world for the sake of their love
• We find out how it's hard to be yourself, how to understand what do you want, whom do you want.

SEASON 4. Sana (starring Iman Meskini)

Trailer of season 4

The last season is about Islamic religion, forbidden things and cyberbullying.

It's an interesting season helping to understand Islamic culture, their family relationships and what do they feel when we call them "terrorists".

At first glance Sana's very strong girl, but it's not like that. She's easy to offend. Sana likes the boy - Yousef, but she can't tell him because of her beliefs. She is modern, loves science and wants to become a doctor, but at the same time her faith in Allah is very strong. And Sana can't choose the right way.

She is clever, terse and speaks truly wise things. Sana respects another's religion and beliefs.

As Sana says "I'm a muslim girl in a faithless country. I'm the biggest loser of them all.'

Resume

  1. I find out something new about things. SKAM has exposed many problems of different layers of society. Parents give money to children, but do not give them love. The integration problems of Muslims into European society. Negative and positive attitude towards homosexuality. Promiscuous connections and addictions. Sexual crimes. Attempts to understand yourself.
  2. I got used to the glossy American TV shows, but SKAM shows me a real life. Girls with acne, overweight. They are not ideal and perfect.
  3. I say it again - an amazing soundtrack. The combination of music and what happens is pleasantly shocking.

I think it's one of my favorite show now).

Thank you for watching my post). It took me about 2 hours to write it).

Hi Natalie. To be honest I've never watched any Norwegian tv series. I do watch teen drama genre. Latest being 13 reasons why. But after reading your review, I'll definitely give it a try. I didn't read spoilers though. you should give it a try to netflix series I mentioned.
I also recently joined steem it. I do reviews on TV and movie.

upvoted and followed.

I've watched 13 reasons why and I liked it. But it's too depressive I think. Skam is a drama but with lots of humor. I hope you'll like it. I also don't watch anything but USA or UK movies or shows, but I loved SKAM

Thanks for reading my post)

I loved s3 even though I only found out after it finished. I followed s4 live. I'm curious about SKAM in other countries, cautiously optimistic but not sure if I'll follow it right away. Did you see Julie Andem is going to direct the US version?
