Everything started moving forward yesterday.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

The morning began with a call from Salvation Army first thing in the morning. When I told them where I was they transferred me to the Springwood store who told me to contact the Katoomba store.

Which I did, and I still haven't heard from them.

I ended up posting on my Facebook wall and on the Blue Mountains Pay It Forward group, seeing if anyone was keen to take 11 bags of clothes and random stuff off my hands stat. Less than an hour later these babies were out the door.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

They all went in one hit and I was so happy to see them go. I was also happy to see how easy it was to pay something forward. The Blue Mountains community, seriously, is second to none. I reckon if I had asked for help with the packing someone would have volunteered their time and come over straight away.

Do I love where I live?

Today's Moving Tip

Aside from crystals, the second thing we have the most of is clothes. Clothes took an entire day to pack because of the big clean out and the organising of the clothes prior to packing.

If you pack the clothes right, they can be the easiest thing to move.

Here's how I pack hanging clothes.

Buy garbage bags with handles. I got a medium size bag, ooops, you can see in the pics below I could have benefited from the larger bags.

Medium bags for kids clothing.
Large bags for adult clothing.

1. Grab a hand full of coat hangers, not too heavy and not too many clothes, otherwise the bag will rip. You don't want that.

2. Lay it neatly somewhere (on the bed for me) and slide the clothes in the bag.

3. When the clothes are in the bag, loop the bag handles around the coat hanger, and hang back up in the closet ready for move day.

Bonus Tip. Use your closets.

Use your closets and cupboards to store the little items you can move yourself.

Use them also as a way to keep the move as tidy as it can be or a place to store important items you need for the move etc.

I know a few of you will be or are moving. I feel your pain and I hope my moving tips come in handy. It's a total pain on the ass, but it's worth it. Keep your eye on the prize!
