Firefox's latest version tries to be funny

in mozilla •  7 years ago

We all know the bad joke about a single pea bouncing back and forth inside mentally challenged person's head... Apparently people at Mozilla Foundation thought it would be funny to include in latest Firefox browser. We all can see the single pea bouncing left and right in complete blankness to the left of the page title - where the favourite icon usually is - while a page is loading.

pretty funny.
perfect.

Kind of appropriate as the latest update is actually pretty much a rewrite... A lot of old extensions stopped working and the new look is a lot more modern... It still uses way too much memory but is more responsible due to not keeping inactive tabs running in background and reloading them when switching tabs. The actual switching of tabs is at least as slow as in previous versions as it has to first reload the page from cache and then render it from scratch.

I've noticed some scripts on loaded pages don't like to run correctly anymore after the update, but I guess that will be fixed later.
