On steemit, you should have seen people use tables to present data neatly into rows and columns. But there is not such a function in the steemit editor. Lets see how to do it in just a few simple steps.
Insert Table function is not available in the built-in editor
How to add table to a steemit post
You may first prepare your data in a table using a spreadsheet. Once ready, select all the required rows and columns, and click Copy.
In your browser, go to Table Generator website. It is a free online tool for generating data table in markdown format. On the main menu, set your desired size of the table.
If necessary, you may also set the text alignment within the column.
In the blank table, press Ctrl V to paste the table that you copied from spreadsheet earlier. Note that there is no Paste function on the menu, you have to press Ctrl V by yourself. Once you see your table data appear on the site, you may then click the Generate button.
Your table in markdown format is generated at the lower part of the screen. If everything looked good, click the "Copy to Clipboard" button.
Now, go back to the steemit editor. Please make sure your editor is in "markdown" which is also the default mode. Then you may paste the table onto the editor and see how it looks in the preview box located at the lower part of the screen.
You may type your content for the other parts of your post as usual. In this post, I use the above steps to create the table below.
Keyword | No.of users | Percentage |
---|---|---|
Hong Kong | 197 | 5.66091954 |
Singapore | 199 | 5.718390805 |
Japan | 288 | 8.275862069 |
London | 803 | 23.07471264 |
China | 283 | 8.132183908 |
Indonesia | 1,710 | 49.13793103 |
Canada | 1,329 | |
Vancouver | 171 | |
Total | 3,480 | 100 |
It is pretty easy, isn't it? It is time for you to try it out by yourself. Here is once again the Table Generator website for your reference.
