Local government is the public administration of towns, cities, countries, and districts. Local government includes both country and municipal government structure. Generally, local government act within powers delegated to them by directives of the higher level of government.

Local government will typically only have control over their specific geographical region, and cannot pass or enforce laws that will affect a wider area. Local government can elect officials and do many other things that a national government would do. The local government had particular by laws and ordinance the business had to abide by those requirements were clearly understood for optimal success.
