Mushroom Monday – Cascade Hike Part 2steemCreated with Sketch.

Here are some more mushroom pictures from the Cascades hike I took a few years ago in the fall. These were taken with my Panasonic Lumix FZ35.

These mushrooms can’t be collected in this area it is considered poaching and you could be fined.

Here’s a coral mushroom that I think is edible. Many of these types of mushrooms can be eaten but I would get a positive identification from another source. I have eaten similar looking coral mushrooms and they were good. Sometimes things get stuck in the branches so you have to clean them well.

Here’s another type of coral mushroom.

A nice view of a mountain on the hike:

I’m not sure but I think this is a type of Russula?

I have no clue what this is. I think maybe it is an odd shaped puff ball.

I had a lot of fun that day seeing a variety of fresh mushrooms. The weather was just wonderful for the hike. I have a few more pictures that I may post at some point.

There are so many good mushrooms in the US Pacific Northwest! The Cascades and the Coast Range, especially. Even if you can't pick them, it's nice you can photograph them. Happy Mushroom Monday! : )

Yes, they grow all over the place around here: in the yard, compost pile, garden, etc. I even found some miniature ones growing in my bonsai tree soil once. It is fun to see all the different kinds in the forest. Happy Mushroom Monday! Thanks for commenting.

I laughed at the thought of bonsai mushroom. I guess they should be very tiny! : )
