Morel mushrooms have a very short growing season here in the middle of the USA. People go bonkers for them because they are considered a delicacy and are delicious! A pound often sells for $50+ USD. They can get quite large, and may only take 7 or 8 of them to total a pound, and you can find them by the hundreds.

I will admit-- I never have liked the taste of mushrooms at all. But I really like your mushroom picture at the top!

Haha thanks. Little secret, I don't eat them much, but others sure do!

Nice post! Bro!

Thanks!

I have to admit that I really like my mushrooms bought from the store rather than wild. Nice pic :)

Believe it or not, the local stores actually buy these from foragers so they can sell them in the store :)

I do believe it but not here in NZ - mushrooms are farmed for the supermarkets and they have a milder taste.

It looks like you could try these if you ever wanted to... Apparently they do grow in NZ

Well I didn't know that - I've never seen them :)

They're very fun to look for! I don't eat a a lot of them.. I sell most of mine, and honestly I can't find enough to keep everyone satisfied lol. Unfortunately they only grow for 3-4 weeks in the Spring. It's a great source of income for 3 to 4 weeks at least haha

It's always nice to get a little extra income :)

Hey @bristowboy check out @markrmorrisjr he posted about 12 hours ago called - 6 reasons its hard to get seen on steemit - have a good read - I found it had good helpful tips that all us newbies need :)

Cool looking little mushroom. Interesting it's considered a delicacy as well

They get pretty big. That was a baby lol. Hunting for them is as fun as looking for arrowheads though, although I find a lot more mushrooms than arrowheads. Super fun though!
