Queen - The Prophet Song

Oh oh people of the earth
Listen to the warning the seer he said
Beware the storm that gathers here
Listen to the wise man

I dreamed I saw on a moonlit stair
Spreading his hand on the multitude there
A man who cried for a love gone stale
And ice cold hearts of charity bare
I watched as fear took the old men's gaze
Hopes of the young in troubled graves
I see no day I heard him say
So grey is the face of every mortal
Oh oh people of the earth!
Listen to the warning the prophet he said
For soon the cold of night will fall
Summoned by your own hand
Ah ah children of the land
Quicken to the new life take my hand
Fly and find the new green bough
Return like the white dove

He told of death as a bone white haze
Taking the lost and the unloved babe
Late too late all the wretches run
These kings of beasts now counting their days
From mother's love is the son estranged
Married his own his precious gain
The earth will shake in two will break
And death all round will be your dowry
Oh oh people of the earth
Listen to the warning the seer he said
For those who hear and mark my words
Listen to the good plan

Oh oh oh oh and two by two my human zoo
They'll be running for to come
Running for to come out of the rain
Oh flee for your life
Who heed me not let all your treasure make you
Oh fear for your life
Deceive you not the fires of hell will take you
Should death await you

Music is a work of art that is nice to hear and I really like the music, thanks @themagus has shared a nice music heard

I honestly never liked Queen that much.. I can't say why, I know they are genius but I guess I never liked their style that much. To be fair, I only know the most famous songs like we are the champions or we will rock you (I love this song, by the way). I did not know about The Prophet Song before, but I read and liked the text. Maybe I should check out more of their music and also read the lyrics.. may I ask you to suggest some songs for me?

Thanks for taking time out to give a detailed response. Their commercial stuff (besides Bohemian Rhapsody which is an absolute classic) was not my favourite stuff. Their first three albums Queen, Queen 2 and Sheer Heart Attack were excellent rock albums. give a listen to "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Bring back that Leroy Brown" to absolutely appreciate how talented these guys were .....and this is a Live recording in 1974 !!

and Leroy Brown

Farking amazing ... all of them were / are huge talents and Freddy Mercury must have been the best vocalist

Thank you for showing the songs to me! Ok stone cold crazy is pretty cool and the guitar is awesome. The other one was also not bad :) i think I will check the albums

Although the voices are different, this still reminds of the style of music of Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span. Its bones seem like those of a traditional folk song, if you see what I mean. But Freddy Mercury is definitely one of the greats.
