"Heaven Beside You" is the second single of the American grunge group Alice In Chains. The song comes from the third studio album "Alice in Chains" from 1996. It is a blues ballad with a delicate melody and a text about separation. The author of the text is Jerry Cantrell, who together with Mike Inez is a co-composer. The composition is unique due to the vocal parts that Cantrell mainly performs. Staley's singing (main vocalist of band) is limited to supporting vocals in the chorus. The music video for "Heaven Beside You" was made in winter 1995 and directed by American artist and photographer Frank W. Ockenfels III.
