The Who formed in 1964. Their Original line-up consisted of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist and singer( Main Songwriter) Pete Townshend, bass guitarist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon.
Selling over 100 million records worldwide and holding a big reputation for both, their live shows and studio work.
Interesting Story I read some where? , Previous names were the Detours and the High Numbers. While playing as one of those , Keith Moon walked up to the Stage and said," I'm better than your drummer" . They tried him, and he was correct!
First Single as the Who was " I can't Explain"
Pete Townshend had a Studio at Home, would write the songs, play all the instruments, Sing, and Press Seven Singles, send them to the others to learn their Parts!
The Who were instrumental in the development of the Marshall Stack and the Much Bigger PA Systems that came into use.
They were also one of the first Rock Bands to start using Synthesizers!
They truly understood the meaning of LOUD!
They were famous as well for wrecking instruments on stage, I believe the first one was an accident, on hearing the applause Pete just carried On!
I recall they were doing a big show in America, Pete Townshend asked if there was a Drummer in the House?
Keith had fallen off the Drum Stool unconscious ! He had decided to try the effects of a Horse Tranquilizer as a new Drug?
Those years everyone was into the Beatles and the Rolling Stones!
When I first heard The Who's "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere , I was sold!
Very Unfortunately Keith Moon Died in 1978 and proved somewhat difficult to replace!
I have just realised that this is never going to fit in one Post , so I will leave you in suspense for the Moment ?, but will Continue

Didn't know about the Who band but judging by their story reputation amazing performance feels like I've missed them when I needed them.
I like the kind of songs they make when I'm sad to cheer myself up but it always had been hard to find more and more songs like those, I'm sure there are just a lot of these unique arts here and there but hard to bring to the light.

Great post! a couple of days ago I had either Spotify or Pandora on and was able to listen to Pin Ball Wizard. In the 1970's I spent a lot of time listening to these guys. I still have some records boxed away...need to locate a turn table.

Nobody will ever replace Keith Moon! I’m a guitar player and by default- I’m not usually as inspired by a drummer like I would be a guitarist. But Moon, he had a fire inside him that the world couldn’t reproduce. He was one of a kind. There are certainly plently of great drummers out there - Ginger Baker, Neil Peart, Danny Carey- a personal favorite...but Moon was a special dude and that’s part of what made The Who so damn Magical. “WHO ARE YOU? I REALLY WANNA KNOW”

Such an underrated group, they did kind of get lost in between the Beatles and Rolling Stones, and the couple of other things that happened between then and Keith Moon's passing. I believe at one point they held a Guiness Book of World Record for something to do with being the loudest music act up to that point. Is your user name a salute to Andy Gibb? Thanks for the post.
