Asleep - The Smiths
The Smiths is a rock alternative band from Manchester, owner of great record successes. Among them "Asleep", a song that was quite popular in the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".
The song gives a very clear message about the depression that the singer has or the protagonist of it. A very big leap straight to an abyss of tragedy, full of bad thoughts and even suicidal thoughts. He says in verses "Don't try to wake me up in the morning, because I will be gone", referring to that he would already be dead, in peace in another life.
Why do I put it among my 7 favorite songs? Because it transmits calm, in some way or another. It sounds a bit twisted on my part to say it, but it really conveys me quite calm and I wanted to share it with you.
