The Museum of the City of New York -- Folk City Exhibit

in music •  8 years ago

Located across from Central Park in the Upper East Side, the Museum of the City of New York is a fun establishment that is worth checking out if you find yourself in town with time to spare.

Below are some of the pieces from the Folk City exhibit, which explored the folk music revival that took place in Greenwich Village during the 1950s and 1960s.

Would love to check out some of the museums in New York.

You must! I have lived here for two years now and still haven't hit them all--there are so many to see!

I'm in Toronto so need to visit sometime. I don't know if you're interested but I would like to invite you to the content makers, it's a group for people to help support each others' work:

Yeah, I'll check it out! Thanks for the invite. Sadly, I haven't explored steemvoter or other autovoting tools yet so I have to figure that out first.

It's easy and free. I just signed up to is last week. Let me know if you decide to use it, the invite is open, if not that's cool to :)

This makes me feeling old... :)

Great shots!

Haha. If talking about the 1950s and 60s makes you feel old then I feel young for once!

I am not from that time, but I was actually listening to music from that period 10-15 years ago. I still like it, but it is now very rare I am listening to music at all. I know it is bad :)

Nice captures, it looks like a very vibrant museum and music is just my thing. I would like to check out the "How to play a 5 string Banjo." I usually teach myself instruments but there are always new things and techniques to learn. Thanks for sharing. up voted
