Synesthesia Review: D'ManiaTPO - Coming Home

in music •  7 years ago

This is the type of joint that shows that D'ManiaTPO is quite the versatile artist. The kid gloves are taken off and the jokes are set aside for a truly heartwarming song.

I first heard it and started missing Loeriesfontein and the fun times I had there. That in turn led to me starting to miss a dear friend of mine, Keith, who tragically passed away in 2016. Music has the power to stir up emotions that were dormant for a long time.

Now I'm not going to sit here (I am sitting) and pretend that I understand 100% of the song, but I did listen to Pro(kid) and Khuli Chana as a youth. I know when someone is killing it in vernac.

The language barrier isn't even that major of a factor as the hook, done by multi-talented Loyiso Madinga, ties the whole track beautifully together.

He does the hook in a much more toned down manner compared to the hook he delivered on All I Want. These two together are simply magical and makes one wonder why there hasn't been a full project done by both of them.

I haven't forgotten about the third piece of the puzzle, SilasBeats (Adrian Silas). He once again excels in he's job as craftsman of the instrumental. You can actually feel the emotion oozing from out underneath the almost somber instrumental.

You place these three together and it's clearly a recipe for disaster, but the good kind. Well done on a truly phenomenal track.
