Angelica

in music •  6 years ago

John Coltrane (tenor sax), Duke Ellington (piano), Jimmy Garrison (bass) and Elvin Jones (drums). From the album Duke Ellington & John Coltrane (1963).

Among the popular pesonalities that are called Angelica, are: Angélica María, singer and Mexican actress, idol at the beginning of Rock & Roll in Mexico. Angélica Aragón, Mexican film, theater and television actress, has participated in both American and Mexican films and is famous for starring in Mexican soup operas. Angélica Rivera is a Mexican actress who debuted as an actress in a soup opera followed by others. Angelica Vale, actress, comedian and Mexican singer who debuted in a musical comedy that also was followed by others. And Angelica Liddel, a writer, theater director and Spanish actress who has received many awards.

Jones begins playing a drum, as in an African village. Ellington follows him with an easy-to-remember melody, and although on the bridge he goes on more adventurous courses, he returns to the familiar theme. Coltrane enters playing the same song, which has a certain trait of humor. He increases the good atmosphere for greater enjoyment of the listener. Coltrane starts his solo with variants of the theme, inviting us to join them. He proposes: “Come to the banquet with us” with his way of speaking to which you cannot deny. And he insists again and again until he convinces us. They return to the original melody convinced that we will have a good time with a gradual decrease in the volume of the sound.
